The Flower Pot

Hi! My name's Mel and I'm the owner of The Flower Pot! A full service floral company focusing on weddings and special events. We strive to create fun, whimsicial (and beautiful!) arrangements to rememeber. It's my goal to ensure EVERYONE has a beautiful wedding with their dream flowers, while making the process as fun (or at least stress free, lol) as possible. Which means that we'll be here for you every step of the way, until you walk down the aisle (we might still be there after that too, but you get the point) Flowers are often a whole new world for couple's to explore, so put our flower knowledge and wedding experience to the test, and let us help you naviagte to find something you'll love - that still fits in the budget. 

I got into the wedding industry, because I love the fast paced nature of a wedding day! There's no greater excitement than the lead up to walking down the aisle! From getting to see the wedding party the morning of and eager family arriving to the couple all ready just before the ceremony - it's such an important day to so many people, and I'm so grateful to get to be a small part. The wedding day thrill never gets old, no matter how many times you do it. I also love getting to meet so many different couples and seeing how they choose to celebrate their day. 

It's hard to say, because a majority of my wedding memories happen before the wedding even happens! Most recently, I would say getting the privledge of making my best friend's wedding bouquet, while standing with her as a bridesmaid. Otherwise, I'd say the time I had a bride decide to switch up her whole color pallate a month before the wedding to bright and colorful flowers (we made it happen!) and it ended up being one of my favorite weddings yet!

If I had to pick, I would say that we specialize in bright, whimsicial arrangements that really exude the feeling of your day. Aside from that, I just think that it's the attention that I give to all of my couples. We really try and go above and beyond in every way possible to make your wedding day, as well as wedding planning - as perfect as we can. 

The Flower Pot was founded in 2022! After about 10 years in the floral industry, I decided to branch out on my own and create The Flower Pot. I really wanted to jump into the wedding world - and I did just that! I've spent the last few years building my business, meeting so many amazing people, traveling across Long Island and getting to see so many beautiful places - I'd can say there's nothing else I'd rather be doing, and no place I'd rather be! Running your own business and working in the wedding industry is no easy task, but doing something I love, while getting to spend my days with my friends and family (mostly importantly, my dog Noodle) is just short of a dream! I can't wait to continue to grow and be able to bring your beautiful dreams to life. 

Do you have a minimum? Not necessarily, I try to look at each event individually. If I'm able to accommodate, I will! If I'm unable to, I'll explain why and we can look for other options. 

When I'm not working, I honestly just love being with my friends or my dog Noodle. I'm either watching Seinfeld or Little House on the Prairie, probably while doing whatever my hobby of the week is. I love making bread, doing my nails, halloween costumes and christmas villages.
