Congratulations on your engagement!  Nice to meet you, my name is Sarah. I have been creating and performing wedding ceremonies since 2012. I believe your wedding ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to revisit the moments that have made up the beginning of your love story!

 My goal, as a wedding officiant, is to make your ceremony planning process fun, romantic, memorable, and stress-free.  I strive to portray your love story, in your style. This is YOUR ceremony and just like your relationship, it should reflect your values, spiritual needs (or non-spiritual), your family’s traditions and heritage, and your love story!    I will provide you with a basic outline, a variety of vows, readings, and sample ceremonies (both spiritual/ religious and non-spiritual), which you are welcome to use or draw inspiration from.  We will then weave in your love story and special touches to create a beautiful ceremony. 

 I am a life-long supporter of LGBT rights and marriage equality for all.

I can honestly say my job has never felt like work. I truly enjoy meeting each and every couple. It is an honor to be chosen and entrusted with somone's special day. I take great pride in making your ceremony meaningful and reflective of your personalities and values. 

Over the years I have had the pleasure of marrying over 1,000 couples. There are so many that stick out. One of my favorite stories though was a couple whom I married in their 80's. They were actually college sweethearts from the UK. They had broken after college- she married, moved to America, had children, and divorced. He never married or had any children, but never stopped loving her or thinking of her. Eventually, he too moved to America. They had not spoken for decades and then the magic of Facebook put back in touch. The wedding was so full of love as they exchaged their vows surrounded by her children and grandchildren. 

I specialize in creating a ceremony that captures who you are as a couple.  Couples often tell me their guests are shocked to learn I had only just met them because the ceremony was so personal. In addition to portraying your love story in your style, I strive to make the ceremony planning process as easy as possible. To do this, I provide you with a variety of ceremony parts and wording options, readings, and unity ceremonies.  I am well versed in various religious practices, and can create a ceremony as religious or as non religious as you like.  My philophy is this is YOUR wedding so it should reflect YOU. 

 

I also know couples sometimes don't want or need a ceremony- just a marriage license signing. I do this as well!

I began officianting weddings in 2012, and I never could have guest how it has taken off. Since then I have officiated over 1,000 weddings! I have had the opportunity to marry celebrities, be on TV, and travel to some incredible destinations. I have met so many wonderful people whom I now call friends.  Years later, couples often contract me to perform baby blessings for their children. It is a wonderful thing to watch a couple's love grow into a family. 

Q. How do we meet?

A. We can Facetime/Zoom, or if you would like to meet in person we can get together at the Starbucks in Rocky Point. 

 

A. What is your fee?

Q. The ceremony fee is between $450-650. This depends on location, time of year, and time of day. 

 

A. What do you wear?

Q.  For years, I found couples preferred I wear a white robe.  Recently, I have had more couples wanting me to wear a black dress or black/gray pants suit. I will ask you which you prefer!

 

A. What time do you arrive at the venue?

Q. I arrive 30 minutes before the actual start time of the ceremony. 

 

A. Do you attend the rehearsal?

Q. Honestly, you do not need me there because the maitre'de is the one who runs the rehearsal. This consists of lining up you and your bridal party. You will have your ceremony ahead of time, so you will know what is being said and when. 

 

Q. We just need our marriage license signed. Do you do that?

A. Yes! I offer a "get hitched quick" service for a $100. There is no ceremony, you just come to me in Rocky Point and I sign it. 

 

Q. Do you stay for the reception?

A. Nope! That is the time for you to celebrate with family and friends. (Plus my kids probably have a baseball game lol.)

 

Q. I noticed you have an 845 area code... where is that?

A. I live in Rocky Point in Suffolk County. The 845 area code is from Putnam County where I grew up. 

My favorite thing in life is being a mom to my two sons! In addition to being an officiant, I am also a 6th grade special ed teacher and an accredited genealogist (family historian). I have two dogs and four cats.
