Rabbi Ron Csillag

Introduction

When I work with a couple, everything is completely customized. We'll begin with a meeting (via Zoom or in person) that lasts about an hour, where we'll get to know each other and I'll ask certain questions to determine what you want in your ceremony. Topics can range from customs like the bride circling the groom, conducting your ceremony in Hebrew and English (or just English or Hebrew), who will read the 7 Blessings -- every aspect of your ceremony is discussed.

Following this meeting, I'll email couples a list of items that were still "up in the air," that they didn't have definitive answers for. After a second meeting where we'll solidify these items, I'll create a customized ceremony which typically begins with a story of how you met, and ends with the breaking of the glass and pronouncing you husband and wife!

The Wedding Industry

I was inspired to enter the wedding industry after hearing of the difficulties that couples were having in finding a Rabbi who actually listened to them. This was the case for not only for conventional couples, but same-sex couples, interfaith couples, and couples with unusual circumstances. I knew that I could connect with these couples and help them celebrate the wedding of their dreams. I'm proud to bring a fresh new approach to every couple I meet, and I never use templated or pre-written ceremonies.

The Wedding Memories

Each couple is unique and special, and brings their own concept of a "dream" ceremony.

Specialization

I have a unique ability to ad lib as needed during the ceremony. For example, a recent bride's dad forgot to silence his cell phone and it rang just as the ceremony was starting. Since he was close to the microphone, it was heard throughout the room. I quickly joked that it might be a last minute RSVP! The entire audience laughed, and we moved right along.

FAQs

I am often asked if a certain part of the ceremony is mandatory. Almost always, the answer is that as long as you have a legal license and have agreed to marry by your own free will, we can adapt everything else to your preferences.

Personal Hobbies

I enjoy staying active! I run or play pickleball every day, and I'm a big fan of NY sports teams.

We could not recommend Rabbi Ron more to officiate a wedding! Through the entire process, he got to know us as individuals and as a couple. He was able to incorporate those personal elements into our wedding ceremony which made the day incredibly special. He was warm, funny and made our day so magical - all of our guests agreed, Rabbi Ron hit it out of the park with a personal and touching service.

We cannot recommend Rabbi Ron Csillag more for your special day. He took the time to work with us so the ceremony reflected us as a couple, as well as gave his personal touch of our story from his side and the impact we as a couple have made on the people who know and love us. If you are looking for a person to marry you that has guests raving about the ceremony and how it was unlike anything they have ever seen, Rabbi Ron is your guy!

I had two ceremonies. One at St Martin of Tours and the other at The Lannin. I am catholic and my husband is Jewish and we felt it was important to do both. But when I tell you it was impossible to find a rabbi to marry us, I’m not kidding. A lot of places wouldn’t call us back. Then I looked on here and found someone who recommended Rabbi Ron. What an amazing and incredible man he is. He is super easy going and laid back. He met with us twice. He went over all the parts of the ceremony and anything you didn’t want he could take out or add. Everyone loved the ceremony and everyone thought he had known us for years. He did an amazing job. Loved his commentary and his jokes. I highly recommend him.

The star of the show, He was amazing! We had an interfaith ceremony since my husband is Jewish and I am not. He got to know us and has become close to a mentor toward us who we’ve come to appreciate so much. Between teaching us the meaning of the ceremony and traditions to calming my anxiety with my pregnancy and the wedding. He was absolutely the best part of our day and I’m so thankful for him!

Found the best Rabbi to marry my fiancé and I and we couldn’t be more excited! I’m catholic and my fiancé is Jewish and finding someone who was willing to do an interfaith reception was important to us! When I tell you he is the kindest person I think I’ve ever met I truly mean that. He was so genuine, listened to every single request we had, offered his advice but not pushy whatsoever. His gentle and calm demeanor made us feel so at home with him. Overall, if you’re looking for an incredible and trustworthy Rabbi, who truly cares about wanting to make your big day perfect and special I’d highly recommend using Rabbi Ron!
