Introduction

Hi, I'm Melissa Greene!

Whether it’s my innate passion for bringing together people through creativity or the enjoyment I get from sharing unique experiences with others, I’ve always approached life with an artistic lens.

It's what lead me to work in communication design and fine art in New York for over 18 years. While I loved my job, I was craving something more. I wanted the freedom to innovate on my own terms and work with more people who sparked my creativity.

In the meantime, I was planning and designing events for friends, family, and colleagues for countless years on the side — and one day, it finally clicked that this was my true passion. So in 2014, I decided to take a leap of faith and open Lunaluxe.

Since then, I’ve had the honor of crafting wedding and event florals for dozens of stylish couples, passionate creatives, and ambitious professionals who share my love for beautiful celebrations. 

The Wedding Industry

Ultimately, I was drawn to the wedding industry for it's combination of creativity, relationship-building, and the chance to play a significant role in one of the happiest days of a couple’s life.

The Wedding Memories

I recently had one of my happiest wedding memories at an elopement. The bride originally booked her wedding in 2019 for a 2020 date, which was subsequently delayed due to the pandemic. Understandably, the bride and I were saddened.
 
In 2021, she decided to focus on job changes and buying a home instead of rescheduling. Then, in 2024, she contacted me about creating an elopement ceremony with just her son, fiancé, officiant, videographer, and photographer as guests.
 
Just before the ceremony began, two of the bride's friends rushed up, declaring they wouldn't let her be alone, no matter how small the event. Our team burst into tears! The love was palpable. It highlighted what truly matters: you can have a big wedding, but what counts is the love for your partner, the life you're starting, and the friends and family who always support you.

  • Do you handle flower breakdown after ceremony and reception:
Yes, we offer breakdown services along with delivery, set up, and flower transfer from the ceremony to the reception.
  • How far in advance should we hire wedding flowers:

It’s never too early to get in touch about your wedding, but we recommend having a few details figured out before you do. For example: Have you selected the location for your ceremony and/or reception? What’s your wedding style? Do you know how many guests you’ll be expecting? Typically, our couples reach out around 6 to 8 months before their big day.

  • Do you require a minimum floral budget?

We have a minimum on full weddings.

 

Personal Hobbies

Being a wife and mother brings so much joy to my life, and planning weddings keeps me busy. Beyond that, I love getting lost in a good book. I am also passionate about traveling and always look forward to finding a beautiful beach to relax on.
 
I've recently picked up photography again, and some days, I enjoy sketching out ideas for events. I'm a big fan of Broadway and try to catch concerts whenever I can. I’m also considering starting reformer Pilates soon. I'll keep you updated on how that goes!
