Hey BOLI couples! I’m Joseph Mondello—better known as “DJ ELLO”—and I’ve been running Ello Entertainment for over 20 years. Although I’m based on Long Island, I’m ready to travel wherever your celebration takes us—whether it’s a local venue, a destination wedding, or even an international event. I started my DJ career at 15 in the iconic New York club scene, spinning at legendary spots like Limelight and Tunnel. Over the years, I’ve developed an open-format style that seamlessly blends Top 40 popular dance music, Hip Hop, Rock, Latin, Country, Classics, Mashups, Remixes, and more.

I pride myself on offering a curated selection of the best mashups and high-energy remixes of today’s hottest tracks, and couples often tell me these selections take their events to the next level. I’ve had the privilege of opening for Diplo, Sean Paul, J Balvin, Nicky Romero, and Alan Walker at international festivals, but what truly matters is crafting a memorable wedding experience for you. I work closely with each couple to create a custom music set that represents their unique tastes and vision, ensuring the soundtrack is as personal as it is unforgettable. Over the years, I’ve also developed a talented team of entertainment specialists—including MCs, musicians, and photo and videographers—so we can offer a complete and seamless experience tailored to your vision.

I’ve been fortunate to experience so many unforgettable moments during weddings—it’s hard to pick just one! Some stand out for their raw emotion, like when couples cry during their first dance, reminding me how powerful and meaningful love can be. Other times, it’s the sheer joy and energy, like a bride who climbed on my speakers and danced on the tables, turning her wedding into an unforgettable party. Then there are the moments when I’m in iconic venues like Cipriani’s or The Plaza Hotel, feeling deeply honored to be part of such a significant celebration.

Every wedding I DJ is meaningful in its own way, but getting to celebrate with close friends—people whose relationships I’ve watched grow over the years—adds a deeply personal touch. Sharing in their journey and witnessing their love come full circle is incredibly special. But I don’t just limit myself to the DJ role—I also hand-pick the perfect team for your event, including lighting designers, MCs, musicians, photographers, and videographers, ensuring every element of your celebration comes together seamlessly.

Ello Entertainment was founded over 20 years ago by me, Joseph Mondello, known as DJ ELLO. The name “Ello” is a nod to my early days in music and the personal connection I strive to bring to every event. What started as a passion for DJing has grown into a full-scale entertainment company offering much more than just music.

Over the years, I’ve assembled a team of exceptional professionals—MCs, musicians, lighting designers, photographers, videographers, and other specialists—all chosen for their expertise and ability to elevate every event. This allows us to provide a seamless and customized experience for each occasion, ensuring every detail reflects the couple’s vision. Whether it’s an intimate wedding, a lavish celebration at a premier venue, or even a destination event, Ello Entertainment is about creating unforgettable memories for every client.

Looking ahead, I see Ello Entertainment continuing to evolve, combining cutting-edge techniques with our personal approach to deliver exceptional experiences. Our focus remains on building connections with clients, customizing every detail to their style, and leaving a lasting impression.

First and foremost, my life revolves around my passion for music. When I’m not DJing or performing, I’m organizing music, curating playlists, and producing original tracks—it’s not just a job, it’s who I am. Music has always been a powerful force in my life, and I’ve found deep connections in how it brings people together, creating moments of joy, unity, and unforgettable memories. This is one of the reasons I love being part of weddings—it’s an opportunity to connect people through music during one of the most meaningful celebrations of their lives.

Family is also incredibly important to me. Being part of weddings reminds me of the importance of love, connection, and the relationships we build. Seeing families and friends come together to celebrate a couple’s love is something I never take for granted, and it makes every event I’m part of feel personal and meaningful.

When I’m not working, I find inspiration and balance in the outdoors. Living in Long Beach NY means I can recharge by the water, whether it’s a quiet day in the sun or jet skiing. In the winter, I trade the sand for snow and plan trips across the U.S. and the world to snowboard. These moments of adventure keep me energized and focused, fueling the creativity I bring to every event.

I also love working with new talent, whether it’s for my musical projects or within my DJ business. There’s something special about helping others excel in the fields they’re passionate about, and seeing them grow inspires me to keep challenging myself.

Personally, I’m drawn to electronic dance music, but I also enjoy chill music and sometimes even jazz—it’s my way of turning off my thinking brain and relaxing. Of course, if I hear something popular or inspiring, I’m likely to download it and add it to my sets. My music preferences help me stay versatile and open to new ideas, which translates directly to the custom playlists I create for my clients.

I live by the philosophy: If you can think it, you can create it. I believe we’re only limited by our own thoughts, and the greatest personal growth comes from stepping outside our comfort zones. It’s the challenges in life that build our strength—mentally, physically, and emotionally—and I apply this mindset to everything I do, both personally and professionally.
