Eclipse

Eclipse is a band/DJ hybrid for all couples who love a DJ but also want the live music effect. With a 3 part horn section, drummer, and electric cellist, Eclipse is sure to wow you and your guests and provide you with the best live music experience. Our DJ will cater to you and your guests, playing the hottest hits and what’s keeping everyone on the dance floor. Our musicians will compliment the music as well as add their own flair.

Our favorite memory so far has been a recent wedding we did this summer. We were on a huge stage and there was a disco ball in the middle of the dance floor, we thought the stage could create a disconnect between us and the crowd but everyone danced all night and we were able to feed off the crowd's energy. There was great chemistry between the couple, us and the guests. We played for an additional 2 hours and when it was over everyone still wanted more. Our goal is to bring that same energy every time we play.

We started our company because we love playing music, we love playing all genres and have fun doing what we love. The company is named after our flagship band “Crossing Midnight”. Crossing Midnight is actually an audio-video term. Rudy first heard it in one of his college classes, when his professor jokingly said “good name for band”. Rudy laughed but instantly thought “good name for MY band”. He took over all social media handles and has now made it his brand.

We often get asked about our “song list” or “set list” and our answer is “we don’t use one”. The reason behind this is we truly believe no wedding reception nor guest list is the same. Just like a DJ, our bandleaders read a room and figure out what your guests like and what they want to dance to. If a specific song, artist or genre doesn’t work for your guests, we switch out and call something different to draw them back in. A set list doesn’t provide that flexibility. If you book with us, you’ll be able to provide us with a list of your requests as well as any “do not playlist”.

We love spending time with our families and friends. We also love being creative and we channel that by creating music through different outlets like creating videos, composing, playing at Central Park or even drawing. Being a part of Eclipse has been great because it has brought musicians together whose instruments are not always associated together. It brings a new light to all the sounds our instruments can make.
