Introduction

Hello BOLI Bride, my name is Alexandra. I'm so looking forward to meeting you! I hate talking about myself, what I rather do is hear about you and your wedding. But if you really must know, my passion is paper and design. I've been designing and printing invitations for nearly 20 years but my love of art goes all the way back to when I was little. Every birthday all I ever wanted was stationery and now it's what I get to do every day! Oh, and did I mention I work with my Husband (Evan)? Working with your partner definitely helps us navigate all of the family dynamics involved in planning a wedding.

Dolce Press is the number one destination for invitations. While my style tends to be minimal, clean, and modern - our team will design an invitation to excite your guests and set the tone for your wedding day. I will obsess over the details of your invites, which is why all of the design, printing, and assembly is done at the studio. I have an amazing staff of talented artists that make up the dolce team - let us help you bring your vision to life!

The Wedding Industry

Why do we do this? We love paper, it's just that simple. An invitation is something special and intimate and sensory. It is the first thing your guests will see/touch, it will set the tone for your wedding. We don't think your invites should come from a book or template - your invitations need to say something about you. It's the reason we started Dolce Press - to be able to make an invitation from beginning to end, fully customized from fonts to colors, paper stock, and every detail in between.

The Wedding Memories

One of our favorite parts of working with brides is getting to see how your wedding evolves from the invite to the celebration. We love the photos and video you share with us - its a once in a lifetime event for you but something we get to experience with our brides every day!

Over the past few years, we've been able to participate in some amazing and memorable weddings. The more you share with us, the more we can make sure that your invitations are unforgettable.

Specialization

We make custom invitations. Our studio is the only one on Long Island that offers both design and printing under one roof. There are too many options to list but if it's possible, we do it. We can do the impossible too - our job is to help you through the design process and explain what will work best to achieve your vision.

We personalize the process for each bride so you'll get exactly what you need and nothing you don't. But, we don't just print invitations. We also offer everything you'll need for your wedding day and after including signs, seating charts, menus, personalized gifts, stationery ... you get the idea!

Our standard invitation projects include customized designs and printing options like letterpress, foil, thermography, and flat printing. For custom invitations, we will design something from scratch that is uniquely tailored to your wedding - think venue illustrations, watercolors, monograms, custom enclosures or boxed invitations, and so much more.

Company History

Dolce Press was born in a spare bedroom and has grown over the past 15 years into a huge warehouse and design space with an amazing team of creatives. I started the company in 2008 with a small tabletop press and lots of dreams of how we could change the invitation experience for Long Island brides.

Here's what we've been up to:

  • 2008 - It all started with me and my love of design in a spare bedroom (with a small tabletop press)
  • 2009 - Purchased bigger equipment, hired our first employee and introduced the world to edge coloring.
  • 2010 - Moved into a design studio and opened our doors to Long Island brides.
  • 2011 - Added more equipment and staff to help with design and printing.
  • 2012 - Expanded into foil stamping and die-cutting with new equipment.
  • 2013 - Started offering laser cutting and foil edges as a finish option for invitations.
  • 2014 - Purchase our first commercial digital press + launched the first Dolce Wedding collection.
  • 2016 - We released our next wedding collection including finishes like beveling, ribbon, and pocket folders.
  • 2017 - Started offering Thermography, which gives your design a raised finish.
  • 2018 - Launched the Dolce Luxury collection including oversize invites + envelopes.
  • 2019 - Flat stamping equipment was brought in to offer custom printing on boxes and acrylic.
  • 2020 - Introduced large-format printing to Dolce Brides including signs and seating charts
  • 2021 - Expanded digital options to include raised UV and foil and digital printing on acrylic
  • 2022 - Started offering laser-cut acrylic for invitations + signage

I couldn't have dreamed that what started with a passion for design + paper so many years ago would evolve to offer so many amazing options to Long Island brides today. But Dolce Press is still evolving, stay tuned for what's next!

FAQs

Here are just a few of the common questions brides have, but I love to talk so don't hesitate to call (or email) about anything (let's keep it wedding related until we become friends).

  • How do I pick the design details (fonts / artwork / colors) for my invites?

Our design team will give you different options to choose from. Based on the initial meeting and our notes, we’ll pick fonts / colors / patterns+florals to give your invite a cohesive vision.

  • Can I see other options after the initial proof?

Of course! This is a process and one of the benefits of working with a designer is having someone to guide you through it. We can show you multiple font options, different ideas for layouts, and alternative florals / artwork.

  • Where does the design process happen?

Many of our couples are not local to the studio so most of the work + communication happens by email. You’ll get PDF proofs by email which you can view on your phone, tablet, computer, or print out on your home printer (we recommend the latter whenever possible).

  • What's different about invitations from Dolce Press?

We don't sell designs from books, all of our invitations are unique designs that can be infinitely customized. Each of our brides works directly with a designer who will take you through the process from concept to design and assembly.

BOLI Love!

Evan at Dolce Press was truly a pleasure to work with. He is so nice and really takes the time to understand your vision. He is a team with his wife and a few designers and you can tell he REALLY loves what he does. I really enjoyed sitting down with him to plan out our vision for our invitations. When he sent the first proof it was practically perfect. He sent multiple proofs after tweaking some design aspects which was so accommodating. After a few weeks, they were ready to be picked up and they were packaged so safely and beautifully! I was blown away by how beautiful they came and our guests raved about them for weeks.

My wedding invitations came out even better than I expected. Classic and beautiful. Will be doing business with them again! Thanks guys!

This company is incredible!! I am so picky (and annoying) and working with Alex and Amanda was a dream!! They saw our vision from the first time we met and hit the ground running on design, color and quality! We are still in shock every time we look at our wedding invitations! This was our first time working with Dolce Press. We ordered our wedding: Invitation Suites, Custom Wine Labels for Favors, Menu Cards for the Reception and Brochures for the ceremony. EVERYTHING from time management, to quick responses, to how they packed and cared for the finished goods were ABOVE AND BEYOND! Look no further...this company is the best at what they do! Dolce Press - you have a customer for life with me!

I can't thank Dolce Press enough for the fantastic job they did on my wedding invitations. They looked absolutely stunning! The process was a breeze - they helped me pick out my paper, ink and foil colors, and even envelopes. One of the things I love about them is the enormous amount of options they offer. The gold foil printing color I chose matched my liner and belly bands perfectly.  Thanks Dolce for impeccable customer service and making the whole process enjoyable and stress-free!

I worked with Dolce Press for my wedding invitations, save the date and thank you cards. Evan, Amy and Alex are so easy to work with and everything came out BEAUTIFUL. They have so many samples at their office and they worked with us every step of the way. We got so many compliments on our invitations and I will be going to Dolce Press in the future for any of my printing needs!

We used Dolce Press for my daughter's wedding invitations.  I can't say enough of what a pleasure it was to work with Evan and Amy in getting the invitations made.  Their professionalism, attention to detail and quality is top notch.  My daughter is beyond happy! Highly recommend them!
