It’s a rite of passage for many brides of Long Island: a pre-wedding boudoir shoot. While many will enter their session with ideas for a spicy spousal gift, all brides leave with a new-found confidence for their own remarkable beauty and power.
Alli Murphy, owner of BOLI Preferred Vendor and 2025 BOLI Diamond Award winner Alli Murphy Photography, recognizes and celebrates her important role in this journey of self-love. “Alli Murphy Photography is always trying to stay ahead, and make sure our scenes are new and exciting,” Alli said in a recent interview. “We had the opportunity to move into an incredible space that is sun-drenched and gorgeous. We now have the ability to shoot a really bright and airy set, and then at the same time go into our other room and shoot dark and moody. This is the first time that we’ve been able to offer such a variety of scenes in the same space. Our clients are going crazy over it.”
This new space offers a unique versatility for brides-to-be. “Our bedroom is all white and just the headboard is dark, and we use satin sheets to really offset a romantic feeling,” Alli continued. “We have a gorgeous white throne that brides are swooning over. We are having brides currently bring in everything from their bridal lingerie, to their bridal jewelry, and even their gowns. We have invested in a lot of new robes to add a classy add on that’s available to everyone and we have black and pink wings always available!”

If you’re in the mood for something a little more scintillating, Alli has you covered. “We now have a BDSM space which is completely different than anything we’ve ever had before,” she described. “It’s allowing ladies to get a really dark and sexy side of themselves, while also being able to utilize our other scenes which are more romantic and sweet. The fun part of doing a shoot is that you don’t necessarily have to focus on just one side of you, you can be anyone you want to be!”

It’s normal to feel a bit apprehensive about bearing it all before the lens, but Alli always provides support and encouragement that truly uplifts. “The hardest part is walking through the door,” she explained. “Once you come in, you’ll feel at ease immediately as our hair and makeup team takes over the glam part of your session with us. During that time the clients get comfortable and wind down before the shoot. Also while we do have the BDSM scene, the gorgeous bath tub and all our other spaces, clients can opt out of whatever isn’t their style. Not every scene is mandatory!”
